Emily Duncan is Vice President, Government Relations and the Head of the Washington, DC office of National Grid, an electric and natural gas company with customers in Massachusetts and New York.

Previously, she was Director of Government Affairs & Counsel at the Solar Energy Industries Association, the national trade association for the solar industry. Before joining SEIA, Emily was an energy attorney at Winston & Strawn LLP in Washington, DC, where she represented various utilities and development companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. She is Chairman of the Board of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and is a past President of the DC Chapter of the Women’s Energy Network. She is on the Boards of the British American Business Association, the Clean Energy Business Network, the Global Business Alliance, National Energy Resources Organization, the BCSE Foundation and Women in Government Relations. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Pennsylvania’s Kleinman Center for Energy Policy.

She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and earned a law degree from Duke University
