Danny Meza

Danny Meza has nearly two decades of experience in both the private sector and federal government, working at the Departments of Commerce and State and Capitol Hill. Through Danny’s experience, he’s developed a nuanced understanding of international supply chains, trade and national and economic security.

Prior to joining the Global Business Alliance as Director for Trade, Danny was a senior advisor in the Department of State’s Office for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, working on international supply chain issues around medical supplies and devices, electric vehicle batteries, semiconductors, and critical minerals. Additionally, Danny coordinated economic dialogues between partners and allies, the EU-US Trade and Technology Council, the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework and the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity. He also implemented congressional engagement strategies on strategic economic security and competition issues around the Mineral Security Partnership, the Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS Act implementation.

Danny served for nearly a decade on Capitol Hill as the chief of staff to his hometown Congressman. Danny’s portfolio included the Congressman’s work as co-chair of the US-Japan Congressional Caucus, US-ASEAN Congressional Caucus and the Congressman’s work in the House Armed Services, Intelligence, and Foreign Affairs Committees.  Danny also worked on export control issues at the U.S. Department of Commerce, working on a whole of government approach to update the U.S. export control system.

Danny was born in San Antonio, TX, and earned his bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a juris doctor and LL.M in international business and trade law from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. He started his career at KPMG and Price Waterhouse Coopers Customs and International Trade practices. In his free time, Danny enjoys cooking and music festivals.
