Alex Manning serves as the Director of National Security and Competitiveness Policy for the Global Business Alliance (GBA). In this role, Alex lobbies government officials on policies that promote free trade while preserving U.S. national security, including foreign investment screening (CFIUS), Foreign Agents Registration (FARA), export controls, supply chain regulations, government procurement policies, cybersecurity and data privacy initiatives.
Alex has nearly 20 years of policy experience, including 10 years on Capitol Hill in a variety of roles, including Staff Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee and Legislative Director for Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX-10). Alex also served as a lobbyist for IBM and multiple clients while at the law firm Arent Fox LLP.
Alex completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas, Austin and his graduate work at the University of Missouri.
