The initiative is part of National Grids Responsible Business Charter, which aims to improve the environmental value of 10% of the land owned by National Grid by 2030
A-B hopes the upgrades and expansion will increase the plant’s efficiency and diminish its environmental impact.
The new positions bring total employees at the Lower Macungie Township assembly plant in Pennsylvania to more than 2,500.
The project is part of the company’s $2 billion expansion investment that is intended to be completed by 2025 and will create more than 900 new U.S. positions.
Sodexo currently employs 760 workers in Maine and serves 13,000 meals a day to colleges and hospitals throughout the state. Sodexo will carry out the $1 million investment by purchasing local food products from its 130 partners at farms and fisheries in the state.
