The Associate of Membership supports GBA’s strategic initiatives, business development efforts, and membership services. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Membership to manage the organization’s membership database, oversee renewal cycles, conduct data analysis, and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for global business and related issues.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Membership Database Management:
- Maintain and update membership contact database through regular coordination with primary contacts at GBA member companies.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy to enhance member engagement strategies.
Strategic Research & Data Analysis:
- Conduct research and analyze data to support strategic initiatives and membership retention efforts.
- Oversee GBA’s data analytics program to inform strategic planning and maximize member retention.
Membership Renewal & Payments:
- Manage GBA’s annual membership renewal cycle and monitor membership payment statuses.
- Execute payment portals and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding dues.
New Member Onboarding:
- Lead the onboarding process for new GBA members, including collecting lobbying compliance questionnaires, facilitating the payment process, and guiding member engagement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for questions and support during the onboarding phase.
Prospective-Member Engagement:
- Research potential new members and maintain a prospective-member pipeline.
- Oversee and promote trial membership programs to grow GBA’s membership base.
Communications & Email Campaigns:
- Execute targeted email campaigns and surveys to collect data and address membership needs.
- Analyze survey results to improve membership services and inform organizational strategy.
Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with member companies, prospective members, service providers, diplomatic contacts, and other associations/organizations.
- Represent GBA at external functions such as member company receptions, embassy events, and think tank gatherings.
Cross-Team Support (as needed):
- Collaborate with the Events and Advocacy teams to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Assist in special assignments, including event logistics, content creation, and outreach, on an as-needed basis as requested by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least one year of experience in membership services, business development, or marketing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience using Salesforce and email marketing platforms.
- Familiarity with survey creation, data analysis, and data visualization is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in global business and related policy issues.
- Team player with high professionalism and a collaborative spirit.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in anticipating project needs.
- High ethical standards and respect for confidentiality.

This is a full-time position based in Washington, D.C., with an expected annual salary range of $60,000 – $65,000. Qualified candidates will interview, onboard and work in a hybrid office environment (currently Mon-Wed in the office and Thu-Fri remote, subject to change).
